Design-Based Research (EDTC 5793)
The final assignment for EDTC 5793 was a literature review that incorporated at least 25 sources and discussed the trends in design-based research studies in a chosen area of interest to us. I chose to complete this literature review on trends in the teaching methods for English Language Arts classrooms at a secondary level, which directly applies to my current position teaching 8th grade ELA. In the end, through thorough research, I was able to examine several trends in ELA instruction and design-based research as a whole, including the addition of elements of performance into the ELA classroom, the increasing presence of debate in the classroom and, of course, the implementation of a variety of technological tools into the teaching of ELA concepts across the board.
